Commanding the landscape from the edge of the Ganges Valley, through
the Himalayan foothills and up to the Himalayan ridge of the Tibetan Plateau
- featuring 4 of the 6 highest peaks in the world - Nepal is a country of rich
history and cultural diversity to match the variations in its terrain. As a
cultural meeting place between China and India, Nepal has always incorporated
the greatness of these two civilisations, while maintaining its own distinct
way of life and political/social independence. Nepali pride is legendary in history,
and a key factor in any explanation as to why the country has never been colonised.
Whether a visitor comes to enjoy trekking, mountaineering, rafting, mountain biking
and camping in the wild and awesome landscape, or is interested in exploring centres
of the Hindu and Buddhist religions through its temples, enchanted streets or UNESCO
World Heritage Sights, Nepal has something for everyone.
It is Nepal's rich cultural variety which has fostered a tolerant and liberal
attitude among its people that is difficult to find elsewhere in the region.
This, we believe, makes Nepali students capable of easily adapting to foreign
cultures where they may study. No wonder Nepali people have such a great reputation
around the world!
Nepal, however, is a developing nation, and striving to overcome many of its impediments
to economic modernity. It is with this in mind that the large majority of Nepali students
set out to study in developed foreign lands - in order to bring back the positive skills,
education and sophistication they have acquired abroad and put it into practice in their
beloved Nepal. |
